Myth: Wicked the Musical
Past Life Information: From the moment Elphaba was born, she was an outcast. She was born bright green, for reasons no one could quite explain (it was the fault of a lil elixir her mother had been drinking, given to her by someone she was having an affair with). For her next pregnancy, Elphaba's mother over-corrected, chewing milk root so much that her second child, Nessarose, was born unable to walk -- and the birth killed her. Elphaba's father has never forgiven her, and most people around her are disgusted by her skin. So Elphaba grew up prickly and defensive, but also as a staunch protector of her little sister. When they both arrived at Shiz University, their lives changed: Elphaba found her magical power was considered a rare gift, made enemies-turned-frenemies-turned-besties with popular blonde sunshine bomb Glinda, and was offered a chance to learn and train under the Great Wizard of Oz. But girl was a social justice warrior in the best way, and when Elphaba realized that the Wizard was the one behind the systemic silencing and discrimination of Animals, simply because they were different, she refused to participate in his world. She was immediately labeled a traitor, cast as a wicked witch, and went into hiding. She had to leave behind not only her best friend and sister but also Fiyero, the lackadaisical Winkie prince she had fallen for (despite him being involved with Glinda). While Glinda became a positive force in the sham Wizard's kingdom, Elphaba became enemy number one. Her sister turned an oppressive leader, and Elphaba tried to help her -- and Boq, the man Nessarose loved -- but it backfired. She gave up being 'good' forever when her beloved Fiyero was tortured and she could not prevent it, so yeah, she was mightily pissed off by the time Dorothy Gale showed up, murdered her sister, and wanted to kill Elphaba too. Elphaba kept crossing paths with Glinda, who, despite their differences, Elphaba continued to love, until she faked her own death (unbeknownst to her friend) and disappeared from public view with a much-altered Fiyero. It was the best and safest option for everyone. Good thing people actually believed that nonsense about water killing her.

Personality: Maggie has opinions and goddamnit she will be heard. She believes strongly in advocating for herself -- probably because so few people have ever advocated for her -- and she will speak up for others if she can. She fights for civil rights, attends marches and protests, and will phone bank all day for a candidate she believes in. She approaches the concept of making the world a better place with grim determination: things must get better, because remaining the way it is right now? Is unconscionable. Maggie is loyal and a little spiritual -- if she loves you, she will sage the hell out of your new apartment -- and she is Serious, but it's just because she believes we all have to do the work to increase each other's happiness. Also, she will pet every dog.
Background: Maggie has been in the system her whole life and it's been really hard. She believes she has a father somewhere in the world, but she has absolutely no interest in ever knowing who she is. She bounced around a bunch of homes and it was never, ever pleasant. But she cobbled together some sense of home and family when she landed in a mess of a house, but with a gift of a person: Steve, who she may have accidentally called Dad one time but like, let's not dwell on that. She lives with him now in the purple house with the rest of their found family, and she would do anything for them, especially Steve, and especially Gavin -- she wouldn't have gotten to college without Steve believing in her and Gavin showing that it was possible to succeed, even with the kind of lives they had been given.
